AMEKA pickups are piezo-electric sensors specifically designed for the amplification of stringed musical instruments such as double basses, cellos or violins

AMEKA pickups are made for professional use and have been tested in a wide variety of optimum and less optimum stage configurations (theaters, outdoor stages, festivals, recording studios, etc...)

Each pickup works and sounds different from one instrument to another, however the efficiency of AMEKA pickups will remain excellent in all conditions as long as it is set up in the correct way.

Unlike other piezo-electric sensors, AMEKA pickups produce optimum results when plugged directly into a DI box. However, using a preferred and trusted preamp remains an option if you think it is better for your own instrument. See our testimonials from professional musicians who hesitated before installing their AMEKA pickup!

The 6.35 Jack is plugged into an "easyfit" bloc that leaves plenty of room between the tailpiece and the bridge, depending of your instrument.

Please be sure to use a good quality male connector to avoid potential issues due to poor quality connectors.

The setup must be done by a specialist luthier. Ameka cannot be held responsible for poor results if the pickup setup is not done by a specialist according to our specifications
